Melbourne Fringe Festival
A bold digital platform for a bold festival.
A bold digital platform for a bold festival.
Melbourne Fringe Festival is one of Australia’s most vibrant and diverse arts festivals, showcasing hundreds of independent artists and performances every year. They needed a site that matched the festival’s bold brand identity, and that could functionally deliver a streamlined ticketing and event discovery audiences expected and needed for a festival with over 500 events to explore.
We designed and built a new website that reimagines the Fringe experience online, aligning with their bold, refreshed identity while solving the practical challenges of managing a festival at scale.
Key features include:
Refreshed Brand Implementation: Translating the new Fringe identity into a dynamic, visually engaging digital presence.
Advanced Event Discovery: Flexible navigation, smart filtering, and clear categorisation designed specifically to help audiences cut through the noise of 500+ events and uncover the ones they’ll love.
Seamless Integrations with Eventotron for smooth import and management of event data, and Red 61 to handle ticketing, customer accounts, donations, and cart functionality.
Optimised User Journeys: Streamlined pathways for browsing, booking, and donating, ensuring every interaction reflects the energy of the festival.
Responsive, Accessible Design: A mobile-first approach to ensure Fringe can reach and engage audiences wherever they are.
The new Melbourne Fringe website launched as a bold, high-performing platform that finally does justice to the festival’s identity and scale.
Stronger brand presence: The refreshed digital design mirrors Fringe’s bold personality and amplifies their voice in the crowded festival landscape.
Improved event discovery: Audiences can now intuitively browse and filter a program of 500+ events, making it easier to navigate such a large program and uncover shows they might otherwise miss.
Efficient operations: Automated integration with Eventotron and Red 61 reduces manual overhead for the Fringe team and ensures accurate, up-to-date event and ticketing data.
Better conversion: A streamlined booking and donation flow encourages more ticket purchases and audience support.
Future-ready foundation: Built with scalability in mind, the platform will continue to support Fringe’s growth in coming years.
